The Role Your Role As a Mainframe Performance & Capacity Management Specialist at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world. What You Will Do Monitor, analyze, and optimize performance across IBM z/OS mainframe environments. Perform capacity planning, forecasting, and trend analysis for processors, LPARs, Sysplex, storage, and tape resources. Analyze SMF/RMF data to identify bottlenecks and recommend performance improvements. Configure and tune WLM policies to meet service level objectives. Conduct performance diagnostics, root cause analysis, and system tuning across z/OS, JES, CICS, DB2, IMS, DASD, and tape environments. Develop performance and capacity reports, forecasts, and recommendations for stakeholders. Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to resolve complex performance issues. Drive cost optimization initiatives, including resource utilization and MLC optimization. Provide technical guidance on infrastructure design, scalability, and performance best practices.
