Project Role : Custom Software Engineer Project Role Description : Develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Must have skills : SAP ABAP Cloud Good to have skills : NA Minimum 7.5 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary: Independently deliver defined SAP ABAP Cloud assessment and remediation activities, maintain evidence and risk records, and escalate findings clearly. Roles & Responsibilities: Deliver assessment activities covering custom development, interfaces, testing, transports, defects and release readiness. Review designs and code for RAP, CDS, released APIs, clean core, security, performance and documentation compliance. Collect and validate evidence from plans, backlogs, RAID logs, code-quality reports and test results. Maintain RAG ratings, findings, risks, dependencies and remediation actions with traceability. Support remediation development, unit testing, peer review, regression testing and release validation. Use SAP Generative AI and Joule for Developers for code explanation, suggestions, unit test generation, dependency analysis, CDS annotation support and remediation, with peer review. Professional & Technical Skills: Must To Have Skills: SAP ABAP Cloud, RAP, CDS, ADT, ABAP Unit, released APIs, clean core and SAP S/4HANA extensibility. Good to have Skills: SAP BTP, SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Cloud ALM, ATC, custom code migration and CI/CD. Experience with SAP Generative AI capabilities, including SAP Business AI, SAP Generative AI Hub, prompt engineering, grounding, model orchestration and responsible integration into SAP solutions. Knowledge of Joule for Developers, including code understanding, predictive code completion, ABAP Unit test generation, dependency analysis, code optimization, CDS support and custom code migration assistance. Knowledge of secure development, performance engineering, automated testing, transport and release management, code quality and DevOps practices. Demonstrated experience in distressed programme diagnostics, stabilisation, turnaround planning, remediation governance and recovery execution, with evidence of improving delivery confidence or reducing go-live risk. AI and Digital Expectations: Use SAP Generative AI, Joule for Developers and other approved AI tools to analyse programme evidence, code, tests, delivery data and knowledge assets identify risks, dependencies, inconsistencies and improvement opportunities. Use SAP Generative AI Hub patterns such as prompt templates, grounding, orchestration and model evaluation where relevant to SAP solution delivery. Apply human validation, confidentiality, security, bias awareness, traceability and compliance with client and organisational policies to all AI-assisted outputs
