Project Role : Custom Software Engineer Project Role Description : Develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Must have skills : SAP ABAP Development for HANA Good to have skills : NA Minimum 7.5 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary: Independently deliver defined SAP ABAP for HANA engineering, assessment and remediation activities, maintain traceable evidence, and escalate technical or delivery risks clearly. Roles & Responsibilities: Develop and review classical ABAP, ABAP Objects, reports, enhancements, interfaces, forms, CDS views, AMDP and OData services as assigned. Analyse and improve database access using modern Open SQL, code pushdown and HANA-aware programming practices. Execute ATC checks, debugging, ST05 traces, SAT/runtime analysis, unit tests and peer reviews document findings and corrective actions. Support S/4HANA custom-code adaptation, simplification, remediation, regression testing, transport coordination and release validation. Maintain workstream RAG ratings, findings, risks, dependencies, decisions and remediation actions with evidence traceability. Participate in client and SI workshops, prepare technical summaries, and escalate quality, performance, security or schedule concerns. Use SAP Generative AI and Joule for Developers for code explanation, suggestions, unit-test generation, dependency analysis, optimization and migration assistance, with peer review. Professional & Technical Skills: Must To Have Skills: SAP ABAP Development for HANA, classical ABAP, ABAP Objects, modern Open SQL, CDS views, AMDP, performance tuning and SAP S/4HANA custom-code adaptation. Good to have Skills: RAP, OData V2/V4, SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP extensibility, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Cloud ALM and CI/CD. Strong knowledge of RICEFW objects, DDIC, reports, module pool, enhancements, BAdIs, SmartForms or Adobe Forms, IDoc, BAPI, RFC, ALE, background jobs, locking and update tasks. Experience with code pushdown, CDS associations and annotations, DCL, analytical models, AMDP trade-offs, HANA SQL and performance analysis using ST05, SAT, SQL Monitor and runtime tools. Experience with ATC, SCI, CVA, Clean ABAP, secure coding, automated testing, transport governance and controlled exception management. Experience with SAP Generative AI capabilities, including SAP Business AI, SAP Generative AI Hub, prompt engineering, grounding, orchestration and responsible integration into SAP delivery. Knowledge of Joule for Developers, including code understanding, predictive code completion, ABAP Unit test generation, dependency analysis, code optimization and custom code migration assistance.
